Hobbit, Elf, or Dwarf? (Reincarnated)

Hi! I'm fairly new to these boards, and sometimes I find it hard to keep up with who's who. The Ringnut listings are good for keeping up do date with who people are, but I quite often like to know how long people have been posting here, or how knowledgeable and board-wise they are, a standing they could perhaps add to their ringnut info later on if they wanted.

This is a bit vague, but I was wondering if people could classify themselves into one of these Middle-Earth categories, or (respectfully) nominate others;

Passing Ranger: An unknown soul, passing by. Their comments may be jovial, and they disappear quickly, or they may be less approachable. Either way, they depart fairly promptly on to another, distant board. They can be quite mysterious, or occasionally inimitably stupid jesters expelled from their home boards, and making their way home.

Hobbit: Very new.

Dwarf: Finding their way around, but still getting used to the sunlight.

Man: Finding their place but knowledgeable and amiable.

--Maiden/Nobleman: A wo/man many regular posters know, and whom has distinguished themselves enough through their posts to be promoted, and not fall into a stereotype.

--King/Queen of men: Possesses the qualities of men, but is bold and pro-active. Forethinking, willing to learn, and often leading the the battle of the lesser mortals against Trollish invaders, boldly holding the line to eaither eject a troll by numbers, or to await the aid of a Maiar or Valar.

Elf: Knowledgable of how things go on, and a comfortable poster resistant to trolls. Experienced, and quite Tolkien-wise, concise and polite.

Maia: A confident poster with plenty of board-cred. Somebody who often advises hobbits how to do such and such. Somebody who can dispose of a troll with their wisdom, either through inaction or a few sharp words. Somebody capable of answering tricky questions, and whose posts are interesting and attract numerous replies. They are polite and interesting.

--Bombadil: A sub category of the maiar. A free spirit, quirky, plesant, and unusual. They may appear strange and unusually jocular to the uninformed, but are in fact wise, and often as old as the boards. They may pop up occasionally and spread some wisdom with their unconvential methods. They may reply in seemingly simplistic terms, but in a way which makes you think much more deeply later on. That said, they know when to be serious, and for trolls, are a deadly foe- they have no rule for coping with a Bombadil due to their unpredictability and seemingly inpenetrable jolliness. Perhaps the best analogy for a Bombadil is a Rubik's Cube. They externally appear colourful and maybe even simple, but are in fact complicated and many-faceted.

Vala: A message board God. Somebody whose posts are considered classics, receiving high levels of responses and interest, and which are bought back up months later. Somebody who knows most of the regular posters and is polite, wise, comprehensive and knowledgable. The kind of people who are far and few between, and are symbols of everything people like about these boards. Theirs are the messages which receive numerous essay-like replies where needed, and people whose posts others make an effort to find and read. They are too far above trolls to concern themselves with them, but if necessary, calmly remove them. The kind of person who the crowds part for.

In addition to these are the evil of the boards:

Orcs: A nasty person here mostly to cause trouble but who doesn't do much damage to the point s/he can be mildly amusing. Somebody who is quite nasty, but mostly just immature. Your average elf can convert them on a good day. This kind of person might be an invader from another board. They're petty, easily hurt and will often seek shallow revenge if offended. They're just a poor mutilated form of life!

Uruk Hai: The next step up from an Orc. Nasty, but slick and critical. Somebody who won't just run off after having received negative response from their cruel messages. This kind of person will stick and battle on to the bitter end, even when they are clearly utterly defeated. Not as petty as an Orc, but more intelligently nasty. Whilst they are fairly evil, if a good elf or higher out-wits them because they've got their facts wrong, they don't like to degrade themselves by staying on to be embarrassed and would rather retreat.

Troll: Somebody here purely to cause mayhem and destruction. It's so obvious that that's their only cause it often isn't worth reasoning with them. They're mindless explosions, and whilst a good elf can take its eyes out with a few well shot arrows, it takes a Maia or Vala to really have any vague impact on them. They're much like a storm that needs to be weathered. Raising completely off-topic threads that are designed purely to cause trouble, especially for those unable to recognise the Troll's basic natural strategies, is one of their favourite instinctive methods.

Shelob: This is a strange category in honour of JPBF (et aka[s] and anka[s](not known as)). It's hard to apply this category to any one person, as it could in fact be many people, or just one, or one or many pretending to be lots of different people. This is the trickiest person to classify. They may, or may not, some more obviously than others, crawl around the boards with their many different eyes and personas, concoting and engineering threads and replies for their amusement.
They're clever, sly, tricky, sometimes impossible to detect, possibly schizophrenic somewhat like Gollums, but no-one knows if it's safe to approach them because of the air of mystery they secrete. They come in many different guises, each often quite different as that's the way they intend it to appear. They use cunning and sometimes treachery to the best affect of their elusive goals. If one suspects they are not who they appear, dare they point this out for fear of insulting a real person if it is not in fact a persona?
No one can ever be sure of their intentions either. Of course, no Shelob is likely to elect themselves as a shelob unless they've been found out and/or using one of their personas somehow serves them. They are shrouded in deception and confusion.
It is as a result of their complexity that their description need be so long. There are master Shelobs, Ungoliants, who may even admit to being shelobs, but are in fact in secret the people they are admitting to. Nobody knows the truth with a shelob. Vote for a Shelob at your own risk...

Gollum: A nasty little creature who is sometimes compliant and pro-active, but will blow up in your face if they think you're in any way opposed to them or are doing something negative to their goals. They're volatile and ugly little things who most are cautious to approach for fear of being bitten. They're creepy and strange, but schizophrenic and touchy. No one can ever be quite sure of their intentions. Gollums probably have issues.

Balrog: A form of cruelty rarely seen on the boards, because they've had the wisdom to go into hiding since the boards have gained strength. They are an evil as old as the eary days of the Fellowship boards, and re-surface only rarely to inject their demonic cruelty. They are a foe only a Maiar or Valar can handle, as they use their powers of goodness in complete reverse. They can melt anything below a man with their firey dialogue and engulf elves to suffocate in their smokey shadows of evil. Maiar can defeat them, and shine through their searing black fog, but only Valar can handle them with any ease. They are esteem-squashing, intelligent, nastiness with a piercing rejective manner and instantaeneous reflexes. They are relentless, and totally devoid of remorse or emotion. They are a cold, cruel, sophisticated and powerful evil, the worst fear of most posters, and often undefeatable. Many orcs would try to promote themselves as Balrogs, but in truth, no Balrog would concern itself with anything but power and destruction

So, what are you?

If you don't feel you fit into any of those categories, make up a new one that best suits you! You might also have a rank within one of those categories. For example, you may be a King or Queen of men, or one of the wisest and eldest elves. Or, you may be one of the slimiest orcs, one of those that eats their fellows.

Feel free to nominate others as well. Mair and Valar often have humility, and might never recognise their true power, and no-one wants to admit they're a gollum do they?

Dwarf, mad with his axe but steadfast to a person in need, doesn't take fools gladly and will always be first in the queue when it comes to the beer being served.

I'd say part hobbit part maiden.

I had originially put my name down as a maiden, but I don't know...since this is kind of a peer thing, what do the rest of you think?

Each day I beat my record for number of consecutive days I've stayed alive.

We have a very nice population of Dwarves here. More than you would think.
