Livng in Middle Earth

I day dream too much (or at least I'm told that) and I've dreamed about what it would be like to live in Middle Earth. But I could never decide where I would live if I was in Middle Earth and what I would be (elf, man, dwarf, hobbit, etc). What would you be? Where would you live? What age?

I think my favorite one is the 1st Age as a human helping Turin Turambar over-come his curse.

I think I would like to be an Elf at the Third Age. Oh, and live in Rivendell...

Hey Beregond! We'd be neighbors then because that was my answer! I'd have to go visit Greenwood often though as well.

I''ve alway loved the Riders of Rohan, and after seeing TTT, I loved where they lived even more. I can just imagine racing across those pains on a wild horse.

That's exactly where I would want to be.

I'd choose to be a man in Numenor as it was reaching the height of its glory, before the people began feeling dissatisfied with exclusion from Aman.

An elf, awaking a lake Cuiviénen!! How Tolkien describes this is just magical, it conjures beautiful visuals in my mind. It's kind of like being born and consciously experiencing it, how amazing must that be? Waking up under a star-lit sky, looking up staring, just being in awe of this 'young' middle-earth. Beholding Orome on his horse. Being taught by the Valar. Making the journey to Valinor. Yep, that's it.

I'm with you Tieno! I'd hope I'd survive all the long time until the last sailings of the Elven ships. I think I'd probably settle down in Rivendell if I lasted long enough.

There was a similar thread to this. The answer I gave there would be The Gray Havens...peaceful, near the water. Good company passing through. Nearest neighbors are Hobbits.
Fourth Age would be nice. Quiet...Sauron no longer an issue.

I don't really know enough about non-third age history. I would say ithilien (the elvish community), post-rotk. beautiful scenery. evil's been eliminated. nice human country nearby. lovely elf-boy to keep me company

I'd find myself a nice cosy little hobbit-hole, and live in the Shire.
Especially just as it's portrayed in the films, it's gorgeous.

I would be an elf living in Lothlorien. Beatiful place, though I don't like heights.

Go not to the Elves for counsel for they will say both yes and no.

Interesting idea, Pharazon.
To let my imaginative juices flow, I'd be a half-elven warrior; deadly in combat yet gentle in the soul. I'd live in Rhun with many other elves protecting the land form Sauron's forces early in the Third Age. I've even thought of a name for myself ; Los-hith, which means "Snow mist".

Hmmm....I don't know much about the ages or places not in the movies, but out of the movie places, I would like to live in the Shire. I love the pleasant country atmosphere and dancing at the big birthday parties. Plus, Frodo (Elijah Wood) is there . Well, he's there until the quest. I would live in a tidy little hobbit-hole with two precious children. Yes, I would be a hobbit (despite the furry feet).

I know this is probably a stupid question, but who is Turin Turambar? I'm not finished with the books yet (but I'm still working on them!)

A major human hero, WAAAAAY back. He was up against Morgoth and killed the "Father of Ragons". Morgoth cursed him and made him pull an Oedipus Rex with his sister. They both killed themselevs when they found out.

An elf, born not long after Legolas, living in Mirkwood, haha! He'd find me and I'd find him... mmmmmm we'd live happily forever after and he'd sail to the Grey Havens with ME, not Gimli!

Seriously, I'd be an elf and wear gorgeous clothes like Arwen...

I guess I partly would like to live with the Hobbits. They are carefree and have a simple life style. But there is part of me that would want to be with the Elves. Everything just seems so beautiful around them. Plus, maybe I get to hang out with Legolas.

Where is a good Elf when you need one?
